Celebrate Teen Literature Day: Book Talks
Accepting Submission through Thursday, April 17
Attention teens: We are seeking Book Talks that celebrate teen literature to post on the Southeast Blog. Book Talks may be no more than 30 seconds and must be about a teen book. Fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novels are all acceptable. Book Talks need to be submitted to Miss Kristine or Miss Alex by Thursday, April 17. Call the library at 827-6900 for more information.
National Library Week: Support Teen Literature Day

Celebrate National Library Week's Support Teen Literature Day (Thursday, April 17) all week by checking out our display of awesome teen books loved by both teens and adults. Teen books have gained popularity over the years and now many teen series and titles - The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, Twilight, Percy Jackson, and so many more - are as beloved by adults as they are by teens. Check one (or several!) of these books out and find out what the fuss is about.
National Library Week: Teen Movie Night
Wednesday, April 16 @ 5pm
All teens (Ages 13 - 18) are invited to celebrate National Library Week's Support Teen Literature Day with a new movie (rated PG-13) based on a popular book by J.R.R. Tolkien. Hobbit-related prizes will be raffled and pizza and sodas will be served thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Call the library at 827-6950 for the movie details and with any questions. Please note: Due to the length of this movie, viewing will begin promptly at 5pm.
National Library Week: Teen Literature Day

Teens, and those who love teen literature, are invited to celebrate Teen Literature Day, a special celebratory day during National Library Week. Join us anytime after school (2pm - 8pm) on April 17 to celebrate the announcement of the 2014 Teen Top Ten nominees. Have a sweet treat and browse through previous years' winners to find a new great read.
Coin Club for Kids: Bartram Trail

Hey kids, have you been thinking about starting a coin collection? Then you'll want to come to the "Introduction to Coin Collecting for Kids" program presented by the Greater Jacksonville Coin Club. You'll learn about the history of U.S. coins, how they are made, where the mints are located, and get to see coins like half cents, Flying Eagles, Indian Head cents, half dimes, half dollars, and many more. Registration is required, please call the library at 827-6960 to reserve your spot.
Earth Day Nature Film: Southeast
Tuesday, April 22 @ 6pm
In honor of Earth Day, children, teens, and families are invited to view a film about an adorable baby chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph. This film is rated G. Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
Family Game Time: Ponte Vedra
Wednesday, April 23 from 3pm - 6pm
Every 4th Wednesday of the month, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games, including Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Uno, and many more. Simply use your library card, or driver's license, to check out the games. All board games - including our new ones (Trivial Pursuit Family Edition, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Don't Drop the Egg, Super Mario Brothers Checkers, and Apples to Apples Disney Edition) are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
Teen Epic Movie Event: Anastasia Island

(PG13) Come see the second part in the epic tale of Bilbo Baggins. The dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, continue their quest to reclaim Erebor, their homeland, from Smaug. Bilbo Baggins is in possession of a mysterious and magical ring. Light snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
Knit Wits Knitting Club for Kids & Teens

The Knit Wits is a family affair. Kids 8-17 are welcome to learn to knit, or bring along mom so she can learn too. Learn to knit, or bring in something you’ve already started, and knit with the group. Please bring your own knitting needles, if you have them.
