11. How do I become a Volunteer?
Fill out an application and
bring it to your local branch. You can also download
a pdf application form that you can fill out on your own
computer and either print it out and bring it in, or go into your local branch and fill one out!
12. Do you have e-books?
Yes, through our NetLibrary database. You must first create a free NetLibrary account from a computer INSIDE one of our library locations AND have a valid St. Johns County library card. You may then access our e-books from any computer inside or outside our libraries.
13. Do you have audio books?
We have audio books on compact disc in all our library locations, and downloadable audio books that may be accessed through NetLibrary. To access our downloadable audio books from NetLibrary you must first create a free NetLibrary account from a computer INSIDE one of our library locations AND have a valid St. Johns County library card. These downloadable audio books may be listened to on your home computer or on a supported portable listening device. To learn more about this service, click here. We also have audio books on audiocassette in all our library locations but are no longer purchasing audio books in this format.
14. Do you have wireless internet access?
Yes, at all St. Johns County Public Library locations except the Hastings Branch Library.
15. Do you have laptops available for the public?
Yes, at all St. Johns County Public Library locations except the Hastings Branch Library. Patrons who wish to check out laptops for use in the library must be age 18 or older. Patrons who want to use a laptop (or wireless PC card for their own laptop) must present a valid St. Johns County library card, leave a picture ID with library staff AND sign a Borrower's Agreement for Wireless Laptop and Equipment Users. ID will be returned upon the return and inspection of the equipment.
16. I have problems viewing your site.
The St. Johns County Public Library System Web Site has been optimized
for viewing with MS Internet Explorer 6 with a minimum screen resolution
of 800x600 pixels. Great efforts have been put into making this web
site capable of being viewed with similar results in all browsers,
however, the best results should be achieved when viewed with MS Internet
Explorer 6.
This web site uses Javascript with the intention of enriching the user's
experience. In order to enjoy the enriched experience offered by Javascript,
you will need to have the Java runtime installed on your computer and
enabled on your browser. This is installed by default on most current
computers and if currently disabled, you can change your javascript
settings in Internet Explorer's Security Settings.
