Library Cards
Cards
are FREE to all Florida residents, regardless of age. * Non-residents may pay a small fee for a temporary card (see below).
They
may be used at all St. Johns County Public Library branch locations.
Cardholders are responsible for all materials checked out on their card.
Library Cards: Limited Privileges
Will be issued to card applicants who do not have verifiable identification and to persons age 17 and younger whose parents / guardians have not signed their card.

When you register online for a library card you will be assigned a temporary numerical id which will remain active for 30 days. You will be able to login with your new account in the library’s catalog to place holds or create booklists. In addition, using your new library barcode, you will have instant access to all of the Gale reference and music databases.
NOTE: To validate your library card and obtain full library privileges, you will need to bring proof of residency to any branch of the SJCPLS library system. If you have had a library card within the last 3 years, contact your local branch to learn how to all of these great services with your existing card.
Library Cards: Full Privileges
Florida Residents: cards may be obtained on the same day as registration by providing one of the following forms of identification verifying name and current address in Florida:

Valid Florida Driver License

Utility Bill

Florida property tax receipt

Valid Florida ID Card

Checks with imprinted name and Florida address
Non-Residents Cards may be obtained by paying a non-refundable annual fee of $30.00, a 6 month card fee of $15.00, a 3 month card fee of $7.50.
Residents of St. Johns County are eligible for free library cards from Alachua, Clay, Nassau and Putnam County Libraries.
Youth Library Cards
A person 17 years old or younger must have the signature of their Florida resident parent or legal guardian to obtain a library card with full circulation privileges. The signing adult is responsible for all materials selected and borrowed by the child.
One
can obtain a library card at birth or prior to birth with a parent’s
signature.
Voter Registration
To register to vote, you must complete, sign, and submit a voter registration application to the office of any Supervisor of Elections, or to the Division of Elections, any driver’s license office, any voter registration agency or any armed forces recruitment office.
