Fun with Flowers...For Kids!

<empty>The Garden Club of St. Augustine is hosting "Fun with Flowers...For Kids!" at all library branches. These workshops will teach kids about gardening, growing, and  making their very own flower arrangements, which they'll be able to take home! Space and materials are limited, so pre-registration is required. Contact your library branch for more information or to register!

First Annual Adult Summer Reading Program!

reading What are you reading this summer? Tell us in this year's adult summer reading program, open to library card-holders over 18 years old. All you have to do is read books, then write reviews on them! For every book review you submit, you'll be entered into a raffle contest where you can win fantastic prizes, including the grand prize of a $120 Visa gift card! You may even have your review published here on our website! Pick up forms at your branch or just submit your reviews online! Check with your library branch for details.

Make a Splash - READ!

splash This year's Florida Library Youth Program theme is "Make a Splash - READ!" Please join us at any of our branches and participate in some of our exciting summer programs. Some of our special guests will include the Jacksonville Zoo, Magicial Marc Alan, the Saltwater Cowgirls, US Army Corps. of Engineers and Mad Science. Reading logs for kids and teens will be available online or at library branches. Check out the FLYP schedule to find events at your library branch! all FLYP events are sponsored in partnership with each branch's Friends of the Library group!

Teen Financial Literacy Workshops!

moneyAre you starting your first job, graduating from high school, or heading off to college? Whatever the reason, every teen needs to learn how to manage money. The St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and SJCPLS are teaming up to offer full day workshops to teens age 15-20 between June 26 & August 7 at various branch libraries. Subjects covered will be budgeting, saving, personal investing, using credit wisely, avoiding identity theft and more. Class size is limited so call your branch to register! Lunch will be provided by each branch's Friends of the Library. Learn more, including class times and dates here.
